Peter Tierney is the Chairman and CEO of Lewmar Marine PLC, having taken over in the latter half of 2008 to drive the development of this well known Leisure Marine Brand.
Educated at university in Glasgow, Peter is a graduate Engineer with a Masters Degree in Business.
In the past 20 years, he has gained his experience in complex technical service and manufacturing businesses demanding a high degree of customer focus in an international market place.
For the last 12 years, Tierney has gained his reputation operating at CEO level in the Oil and Gas sector, and more recently in Aviation, where he ran a large Helicopter Service Business based in North America.
A keen mariner, Peter has sailed competitively and for pleasure since childhood and accordingly has a detailed and practical understanding of the Lewmar product range in operation.

Matt Johnston is Sales Director for Lewmar Marine, having taken over the position in October 2008 as part of the re-organisation of the senior management team.
Educated in the Midlands, Matt has a BSc Hons in Psychology and has been working within the marine sector since graduating in 1996.
Originally employed with Jack Holt Ltd as Sales Manager for their dinghy deck gear, Matt later joined Navtec in 2000, heading up Custom race boat / Super-yacht Rigging and Hydraulic Sales. More recently he moved onto the Lewmar side of the business in 2005 Leading Custom race boat Sales worldwide plus the European Navtec Operations.
Matt is a keen sailor from dinghies through to super-yachts and has always taken an active role in driving new product development throughout the areas of the business that he has been working in

Ian Stevenson is Product & Marketing Director for Lewmar Marine, having taken over the position in October 2008 as part of the re-organisation of the senior management team.
Having worked in the marine industry since the late 80’s in the UK and Australia, Ian started at Lewmar in 1996. At first Ian was responsible for the UK power boat builders then moved into marketing. Ian was responsible for managing the aftermarket and worldwide distributors since 2001, and developed the Lewmar web site which is revolutionising the way Lewmar trades with its world wide distributors.
Ian is now responsible for product development and marketing throughout the business.
A keen sailor racing dinghies, Ian also owns a powerboat which he keeps locally on Chichester harbour.

Iain Johnstone joined Lewmar as Purchasing Manager in November 2009. He started his working career in the marine industry in a technical role involved in the manufacture of stabilizers and steering gear for naval and merchant fleets.
Iain gained extensive procurement experience within the electronics and defence industries involving European and Asian supply.
Iain has a Mechanical Engineering degree from Edinburgh University, is a member of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers and has an MBA from City University, London.

An experienced manufacturing operations executive, John began his career as a shipyard engineer with General Dymanics in Groton, CT. He joins Lewmar from United Abrasives/SAIT ( Willimantic CT), where he held the position of Vice President (VP) of North American Manufacturing and Distribution. Prior to this post he was with screwdriver hand tool manufacturer Pratt-Read Corporation, based in Bridgeport, CT. from 1992 until 2008; where he worked in a variety of roles from VP sales and marketing through to VP operations and finally Chief Operating Officer.
Based in Lewmar's Guilford, Connecticut office, John will be responsible for managing Lewmar Inc. and Navtec, Lewmar's rigging division.
John holds an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Operations Engineering from the University of Michigan. He also has APICS certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM).
John resides on a small farm in coastal Stonington, CT with his wife Vera and teenage son Peter.

Alan has recently joined the Lewmar team in October 2009 and is based in Thailand as the Asian Area Manager. Alan has been a competitive sailor since the age of 9 and spent much of his life designing, building and sailing yachts and dinghys. With an engineering background and having spent the last 10 years managing a yacht mast and rigging company in Australia Alan comes with a wealth of knowledge and experience.

Roger joined Lewmar in early 2007 having worked in the marine industry since 1995, initially with Banks Sails and then with rope holding specialist Spinlock. He holds a B.Sc (Hons) in Maritime Studies from Southampton Institute of Higher Education (now Solent University).
In his current role Roger manages Lewmar sales to major UK sail and power OEMs such as Oyster, Northshore, Sunseeker and Fairline as well as looking after Navtec sales in the UK.
Roger has been racing sailboats for over 20 years and has extensive experience aboard everything from dinghies to 100’ Supermaxis. He has successfully competed at many major regattas and races including the Admirals Cup, Fastnet Race, Middle Sea Race, Scottish Series and Cork Week and in 2008 was part of the victorious England Red Team at the Rolex Commodores Cup. For 2010 he will be racing a Blaze dinghy from Warsash Sailing Club and a new Grand Soleil 43OT on the regatta circuit.

Tom Fleming

Tom is the senior member of the Lewmar Field Sales Management Team with over twenty-five years of industry experience. Tom began his career in 1985 with Jay Stuart Haft, the importer for marine equipment supplier Simpson-Lawrence. There he held various positions in sales, service and product development. Tom worked extensively to build the Simpson-Lawrence product line and eventually developed what is known today as “The Fleming”, a namesake one piece Tclosed end stripper for rope / chain gypsy rode management. He also developed the Horizon 500 horizontal Hi-volume windlass. In 1999 Lewmar merged with Simpson-Lawrence and Tom became part of the Lewmar Group management and field sales team. He continues to use his extensive knowledge of anchoring systems and thrusters to service the OEM marine market. Tom grew up on the west coast of FL and continues to enjoy boating and diving the waters there.

Phil a classically trained engineer joined Lewmar in 1986 as engineering manager. His first role was to introduce Windlass products to Lewmar’s portfolio. During the late nineties he ran the Hatch factory introducing many improvements still being used today.
At the turn of the Century he started developing the revolutionary Lewmar TT tunnel thrusters which were launched in 2004.Phil is now responsible for Windlass, Thrusters and anchor and is currently working with the design team on the extensive range of Heavy Lift Windlasses. Phil’s knowledge on thrusters and anchoring products is extensive; if you have any questions just drop him a line.
Outside of ‘work’ Phil enjoys Motor sport, photography, DIY and has just embarked on rebuilding old clocks.

Harcourt started with Lewmar in 2000 after an early career as a collegiate sailing coach. At Lewmar, he has held various positions in sales, service, and marketing. After growing up sailing on Long Island Sound at the Sachem’s Head Yacht Club, Harcourt raced competitively at the St. Georges School in Newport, RI and then at the intercollegiate level at College of Charleston in Charleston, South Carolina. Harcourt was twice named Collegiate All American at Charleston and was also a member of the US Sailing Team in the 470 Class in 1997 and 1998. As part of the Lewmar Group’s field sales team Harcourt uses his extensive knowledge of both power boat and sailboat equipment to service marine customers in the wholesale and retail markets as well as OEM sailboat builders.

Graham Smith joined Whitlock Marine Steering in 1985, and has worked on yacht steering ever since, including a number of years working for a Yacht Steering manufacturer in the USA. Graham rejoined Whitlock in order to return to the UK. Lewmar acquired the Whitlock Steering business in 2001, and relocated the Whitlock business to its Havant headquarters Graham has 25 years of experience in the field of yacht steering systems and has designed steering solutions for trailer sailors right up to Super yachts of 60m in length, if you have any steering related questions Graham will be able to help.

Bob Stevens joined Lewmar in 1996, working in the Hatch Division. Promotion to Hatch Product Manager came in 2001. The Hardware range was added to the portfolio in 2009.
Educated at Southampton Institute Of Higher Education (now Solent University) he graduated with a HND Engineering in yacht manufacturing technology and a 1st Class BA Hons in Marine Industry Management.
Bob learned to sail in the challenging waters around Guernsey in the Channel Islands. He also enjoyed many summer jobs as “nipper” on inter-island ferries and with yacht engineering firms in St Peter Port.
Bob sails an RS400 class dinghy on Chichester Harbour (RS400 class boat) and occasional races on an X-99 yacht out of Portsmouth.
