Jay Stockmann Promoted To Executive VP of Lewmar Marine USA

GUILFORD, Conn. (October 3, 2007) - Lewmar Marine USA, which manufactures deck equipment and rigging for leisure boats, has announced that Jay Stockmann, former vice president of sales and marketing, has been promoted to executive vice president. The announcement was made by Gregory J. Smith, newly appointed chief operating officer of Lewmar USA, and president of Navtec Corporation, Inc., Lewmar’s marine rigging division, both based in Guilford, Conn.
In his new position, Stockmann, who joined Lewmar in 2002, will be responsible for all OEM and Aftermarket sales and marketing of the Lewmar brand. This will be an expanded role that also focuses on leveraging opportunities with Navtec.
“Jay has been an important part of the growth of Lewmar Marine. His new title and increased responsibilities reflect our anticipation of even greater success in the future,” said Gregory Smith.
Stockmann, 42, lives in Guilford with his wife and two daughters. He holds a B.A. in Graphic Design from the University of Vermont and is an avid sailor, boater, runner, cyclist, skier and outdoor enthusiast.
Navtec is the world leader in performance rigging for the marine industry, and recently played an important support role for a number of America’s Cup syndicates. In July 2007, Navtec was integrated into Lewmar to become a branded division of the company whose parent office is in Havant, U.K. Lewmar and Navtec combined have four factories and nine sales subsidiaries around the world.
